i had a situation today where my immediate reaction was the exact opposite with what i would have advised someone to do in the same situation. it got me thinking about how easy it is to tell someone to turn the other cheek, or to suck it up, or any of the hundreds of other quotes that we rattle off every day, and how interesting it is that it wasn’t my first reaction.

i’ve come a long way, and i still have long to go.
